‘He
loves music and keeping fit, was the first Chair in Emergency Medicine in
Australasia, follows a vegan and fish diet, licked into shape an ailing
emergency department in a major hospital, has published numerous clinical
studies and several books, was a WA finalist for Australian of the Year in 2008
and has kept multiple sclerosis at bay for years.
He
is Winthrop Professor George Jelinek, who retired in mid- April as Professor of
Emergency Medicine at UWA and Head of Emergency Medicine at Sir Charles
Gairdner Hospital.’
